Summer Style

The sun is peeking through the clouds, and warming our faces.  In Portland, that can only mean one thing, SUMMER IS COMING!  I have said it before, I love the changing of the season's.  When one is ending I am always so excited for the next!  Summer is probably my favorite, with fall being a close second.  When I think of summer I see, sundresses and sandals, beaches and bikini's, and of course that beautiful bronze that always makes me feel so fresh.

This summer, I am dying for maxi dresses, and wedges!  Every season I seem to pick staples that I use often.  Last year being spring, I was drawn to ultra-feminine floral prints, and boot socks, sometimes together. But this season I am sure that Maxi will be my go-to-gal!

Before I had children, and when I still wanted to be a fashion designer I spent a lot of money and time on my wardrobe.  I worked hard, and spent my money the way I wanted to with little thought at all.  Now, my reality and how I choose to spend money has changed quite a bit.  Now my wardrobe is filled with mass produced pieces, vintage finds, clothing swap steals, and good ole' Target.  Fashion is still very important to me, InStyle is always my go-to-maggie I just have to be a little more creative with the new members to my closet.

I adore this nude maxi by Haute Hippie on sale at ShopBop.com for $625

Here's another option that is quite a bit more affordable selling on Forever21.com for only $15.50

I fell in love with this Haute Hippie dress because of the color and the feminine ruffle detail, and LOVE the sexy leg slit.  When I found the second dress I was instantly drawn to it as well, the color and ruffle detail are beautiful.  While I do prefer the neckline to the Haute Hippie dress, and am sad there is no leg slit, I am completely satisfied with the second dress.

Since I saved myself so much money with this purchase, I of course had to see what else needed to join my fabulous fashion family!

I love the color palette for this fabu frock!  I am very drawn to color blocking, and this dress is done in a way that I feel very comfortable in.  One of the things I love about this one is the light airiness of the bottom of the dress.  So feminine, and I feel like a southern belle!  I haven't worn it out yet, but I plan on this being a weekend fave, paired with my large sun hat from H&M!  If you love this lovely, you can get it here for a steal for only $39.80.

As soon as I set eyes on her, I knew she had to be mine!  I am a sucker for floral prints, and bold colors, this dress SCREAMS me!  I love the fabric used, again like the color blocking one above the light airy fabric that so flattering.  I normally don't choose a tube style dress because, well my boobs aren't what they used to be {LOL}. This one is quite flattering and I paired it with my vintage saltwater sandals, and my cropped denim jacket and straw Fedora for a night on the town with the hubby.  It was magical, and I felt unbelievably sexy the entire night!  This is another killer deal go be saved here for only $24.80

Summer Hair

I was once radically attached to my hair, it was insane and I am extremely embarrassed about that now.  So when I was sitting at home last weekend I realized it was spring, and summer would be just around the corner.  What was I going to do with my hair?  My current favorite TV show is Once Upon a Time.  if you have not seen it, please check it out!  It's on Hulu.com.  I am loving Snow AKA Ginnifer Goodwin's hair, it's this amazing short bob and she looks ultra sexy at events, and sweet and wholesome on the show.

Here's Ginnifer as Mary Margret on Once Upon a Time.

Here she is again, but her attire has changed and she's gone from ultra feminine, to uber sexy!

Nevertheless, I adore this cut, but I don't feel comfortable going quite that short.  So I took it to a stylest, I'm still testing the waters for the right one, I still haven't found "My Stylest" since we moved here, there's quite a few options. But I'm quite happy with that I came away with this time!

I was a bit worried, that my face was to round for this cut, or that I would look like a boy.  But with the dye job so blond, and I am wearing a lot of red and coral lip color that hasn't been a problem.  I'm really happy with it, and I receive a lot of compliments.  I still feel like a woman, maybe even a bit sexier ;)

What are your summer hair plans?  Trying something daring or keeping the same?
